AOP Technology Wire Processing

Greetings,

I hope everyone enjoyed the Holiday Season. It was nice to have some time off to spend with friends and family, but now it’s time to get back after it.

I want to dig into a personal phrase that I like to use called the “window of stripability.” This is important with Mil-Spec or wires with multiple insulation layers.

Every wire has a “window” where the cutting blade size will either scrape the conductor or not leave a clean cut. When we design a blade, we look at each layer’s wire construction, insulation thickness and how they are bonded together – if at all.

Based on past experience we are normally close on die size to begin with, but sometimes we will make a blade with different diameters, so we know the high and low of the “window of stripability.” The final blade design is based on this.

While creating the perfect wire stripping blade can come with its challenges, our years of experience mean you will get precisely what you need. Call us today to discuss how we can help you maximize your productivity!
